Advanced Mechanics Virtual Lab

The objectives of the Advanced Mechanics Virtual Lab (Physical Sciences) are:
  • To determine the rigidity modulus of various materials using torsion pendulum and static torsion methods.
  • To evaluate Young’s modulus through uniform and non-uniform bending experiments using standard measurement techniques.
  • To understand and analyze the behavior of a compound pendulum, including symmetric designs and Kater’s pendulum, for accurate measurement of gravitational acceleration.
  • To investigate torsional oscillations and their dependence on moment of inertia and restoring torque.
  • To enhance conceptual clarity and experimental skills related to elasticity and oscillatory motion through visual simulation and data interpretation.
  • To encourage inquiry-based learning by allowing students to manipulate experimental conditions and observe the resulting effects in real-time.
